Kerri Schneider is a licensed clinical psychologist, who has been specializing in the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and families for over twenty years. She is currently in private practice in Lake Worth, FL.
She offers individual and family therapy, consultation, and psychological/ neuropsychological assessment for a variety of childhood issues/disorders including attention and behavioral problems at home and school, anxiety and mood disorders, learning disorders, autistic spectrum disorders, coping with parental divorce, difficulties with peer and/or familial relationships, and psychological factors associated with chronic illness. Dr. Schneider’s background integrates expertise in cognitive-behavioral therapy, developmental theory, and neuropsychology, into an evidenced-based treatment approach that is both empathic and based on the current scientific literature.
Prior to starting private practice, Dr. Schneider was the Director of Psychological Training at the Center for Child Development for four years. In this position, she managed all aspects of outpatient mental health services at the Center for Child Development and provided supervision and direction for the psychology programs at the Center. In that role, she also provided psychological consultation and developmental evaluations for children birth through three years of age served through the Early Steps Program in Palm Beach County .
Dr. Schneider lectures widely to community organizations, mental health professionals, and school personnel speaking on issues related to the social and emotional development of young children, behavioral difficulties in young children, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorders, learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorders, coping with raising a child with special needs, and psychosocial issues associated with diabetes in children. Dr. Schneider has had numerous professional poster and paper presentations at scientific conferences and has been published in a variety of scientific journals.
Dr. Schneider received her B.S. degree in Psychology from the University of Florida , where she graduated with Highest Honors. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of South Florida . She completed her internship in psychology specializing in clinical child and pediatric psychology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. She then completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology at the prestigious Mailman Center for Child Development, University of Miami School of Medicine.
